The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery offers clinical, biomechanical, and basic science opportunities to both residents and medical students. Paul Lucas Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics and Pathology focusing on research in the field of Orthopaedics. Whether designing and executing research projects or assisting residents and faculty, Dr. Lucas is a valuable asset to the Department.
The Department of Orthopaedics has access to a fully equipped laboratory in which to perform experimental testing. One publishable project is required of each resident, but residents are encouraged to be actively involved in research; the resources are certainly available to do so.
