GSBMS Hosts Bake Sale to Benefit Victims of the California Wildfire
Bake sale in response to the deadliest wildfires in California's history
The New York Medical College community rallied to support a bake sale hosted by students in the Graduate School of Basic Medical Sciences (GSBMS) on November 29 and 30, in response to the deadliest wildfires in California's history.
In two days, $1,000 was raised for Direct Relief, a not-for-profit charity based in California that supports disaster response efforts, including emergency shipments of medications, medical supplies and other essentials to aid health providers and first responder organizations in the fire-ravaged areas. Homemade treats and sweets were donated by GSBMS students, faculty and staff, from left, Hannah Mulhall, Rachana Maniyar, and Liz Newman, all Ph.D. candidates in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, staffed the bake sale tables.
