SHSP Hosts Special Dean's Lecture 2018

The School of Health Sciences and Practice hosted a special Dean's Lecture on November 28 as part of its Dean's Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series, welcoming Thomas W. Feeley, M.D., second from left, senior fellow, Harvard Business School and professor emeritus, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, as the guest lecturer.

Dr. Feely, who presented "Values Based Health Care," shared his research on the value-based health care agenda with an emphasis on the role of information technology in health care and the implementation of value-based health care through outcome measurement, cost measurement, and alternative reimbursement strategies in delivery systems worldwide. Dr. Feely, was welcomed by, from left: Adam E. Block, Ph.D., assistant professor of public health in the Division of Health Policy and Management; Denise C. Tahara, M.B.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., associate professor and division director of health policy and management; Robert W. Amler, M.D., M.B.A., dean of the School of Health Sciences and Practice and vice president of government affairs; Ben C. Watson, Ph.D., vice dean, School of Health Sciences and Practice; and Mark J. Kittleson, Ph.D., professor and chairman of the Department of Public Health.
