The Office of Public Relations (PR) is committed to helping grow the public profile of NYMC and ensure effective internal and external messaging with faculty, staff, students, alumni, the community and more.

Numerous services and resources are available to schools, offices, and departments to achieve their communication goals.

Style Guide

NYMC style guidelines outline the proper use of the NYMC logo and overall brand image, and provide guidance on digital media content and production of print materials.

Project Request

NYMC offices and departments that would like to request services from the Office of Public Relations, please complete the Public Relations Project Request Form

Student clubs and organizations must go through an NYMC office or department to request services. Services include:

Design and Proofing

Design services may be available for organization-wide invitations as well as custom print and digital materials.  Note: allow at least seven (7) business days for the design and proofing process and, if printing is required, an additional fourteen (14) business days.

Event Promotion

Organizing an event? Learn more about planning your event on the NYMC campus. Each school, office, and department is responsible for organizing their event, while PR offers a range of communications services to promote events, including featuring it in newsletters, sharing it on social media and campus digital signage, creating invitations, press releases, and more.            

Once your event is finalized and approved in the College’s room reservation system, please submit it to the NYMC online events calendar. Events posted on the calendar are also listed in InTouch, the College-weekly e-newsletter. It is an excellent tool to share your event with the NYMC community.

Borrowing Branded Items

NYMC-branded items, including podium and stage banners, backdrops (step-and-repeats), and tablecloths are available for loan to schools, offices, and departments. Items are based on availability and are reserved only for faculty and staff on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students are not eligible to directly borrow NYMC-branded items unless done through an NYMC school, office, or department on the student club/organization’s behalf. Note: the requestor is responsible for lost or damaged items.

Photography

A list of approved photographer and videographer vendors is available for your event upon request. Also, based on the availability of the PR staff, and if the event is covered for an NYMC publication, your event can be covered by one of our team members. Another option available is that school, office, or department can request to borrow a College camera on a first-come first-serve basis.  

PR maintains an electronic image library of photography and videography that is representative of the College’s campus, students, faculty, alumni, events, and overall brand. Schools, offices, or departments requiring photography or videography for marketing and communications purposes should contact the PR to access the image library.

Campus Digital Signage

For campus-wide digital signage announcements, complete the digital signage template available under the TouroOne Campus Resources and email it to public_relations@nymc.edu.

NYMC Stationery

Order NYMC stationery such as letterhead or business cards through the TouroOne portal.

News & Content

The Office of Public Relations manages NYMC publications, including the Chironian, InTouch, and Alumni Connections. We work with outside media to promote the College and its professors.

Media

To request media coverage for their event, be considered as an expert for media interviews, or to report a potential crisis communications situation, please reach out to public_relations@nymc.edu.

Social Media

The Office of Public Relations is responsible for the College’s official social media presence on platforms such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, etc. These platforms provide another opportunity to reach various audiences, such as prospective students, current students and alumni, and have the potential to create a significant impact on the reputation of the College.

The Office of Public Relations ensures that social media accounts that are associated with New York Medical College portray and promote the College in a way that is consistent with its mission and reputation. Any department, group or individual, that wishes to create a social media site utilizing the New York Medical College name or logo must obtain approval from the Office of Public Relations and share the passwords to these sites with the department. Administrative departments are responsible for maintaining and updating the content on these sites.

Public Relations welcomes new content for sharing on social media sites. Anyone with content they wish to post on one or more of the College’s social media sites should forward it to public_relations@nymc.edu.
