Kiara Thomas, M.A., is responsible for creating and editing content for print and electronic communications, events, social media, the website, media relations and advertisements. Prior to joining NYMC in 2023, Ms. Thomas was a journalist for local New York City newspapers and health and wellness magazines and won national and local awards for her work. She also served as an editorial manager for a political campaign and created social media content for businesses and a city agency. 

Education

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in Africana studies at Stony Brook University and a master’s degree in journalism with a specialization in health and science reporting at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
