Rosemarie Raffa, M.S.N., APRN, FNP, comes from a family with a medical background. She worked with her father in his office and the laboratory at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers.

Ms. Raffa worked in the non-profit sector as an associate director of a foreign language association, but her caregiving duties and skills were never left behind. In 1994, Ms. Raffa embarked on her educational journey to become a nurse practitioner. Ms. Raffa was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital for Children, serving families with kids with congenital disabilities. Post graduation, she worked for six years for Croton Medical Associates honing her Internal Medicine skills. There, her patient population was largely geriatric with numerous comorbidities.  Rosemarie was also an adjunct professor at Pace University, in a role as liaison between the University, the students and their clinical site preceptors. In 2006, Ms. Raffa became nurse practitioner at Columbia University Student Health, with a concentration of Womens’ Health. She next joined the team of NPs at WMC working in-patient oncology, where tasks included critical care management, oversight of chemotherapy protocols, coordinating and ordering tests, consults and mediations as well as assisting with end-of-life issues. Ms. Raffa “retired” from WMC in February 2020 after 12 years. She immediately became a part of the per diem NP staff working in Health Services where she is pleased to join a cardre of colleagues who work to streamline the needs of students, faculty and staff at the College.
