Paula Wasserman, M.A., M.S.W.
Ms. Wasserman has over twenty-five years of experience working in the field of mental health. At CUNY-Queens College she evaluated and completed research on children with disruptive behavior disorders.
Upon graduation, she served as an applied behavior science specialist with neurodivergent adults. This piqued her interest in learning more about cognitive functioning over the life cycle and subsequently pursued an opportunity to complete neuropsychological evaluations assessing cognitive changes in individuals with suspected dementia at Columbia University Medical Center. Ms. Wasserman took on progressive responsibility coordinating a free multidisciplinary clinic and multiple Phase II – Phase IV clinical trials and observational research studies working with individuals and families affected by Huntington’s disease.
In 2022, Ms. Wasserman decided to pursue her lifelong aspiration of becoming a therapist. During her training, she completed her specialist year as a social work intern at NYMC-SMHW. She is excited to join the SMHW clinical team full-time as a licensed social worker and looks forward to supporting students in achieving their wellness and educational goals.
