New York Medical College’s (NYMC) signature fundraising event will be an evening to celebrate members of the NYMC community and raise money for student scholarships on Wednesday, October 27, at Marina Del Rey in Throgs Neck, New York. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all guests and social distancing will be practiced.

This year's gala, with the theme “Celebrating Fascinating Friends,” will honor Brij M. Singh Ahluwalia, M.D., GME ’72, professor of neurology and former chair of the Department of Neurology, and Chitti R. Moorthy, M.D., professor of clinical radiation medicine and former chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine for their years of dedicated service to NYMC. The Israel S. Kleiner Award will be presented to Joseph Popack, a member of the Board of Trustees, and Penina Popack, as well as the Alfred B. DelBello Distinguished Service Award which will be presented to NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, a major affiliated clinical site -- representing the oldest continuing affiliation between a private medical school and a public hospital in the United States.
