NYMC Welcomes D.P.T. Class of 2027 at New Student Orientation
Incoming Students Get Acquainted During Their Three-Day Orientation
New York Medical College (NYMC) welcomed more than 50 students to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T) Class of 2027 on May 29. For the three-day orientation, students learned about health services, student support, professionalism, upcoming courses, managing bias in healthcare, financial planning, test strategies, and an anatomy overview from faculty and staff at NYMC. Students were also able to participate in social activities, including a luncheon filled with food and outdoor games, hosted by the D.P.T. Class of 2025.
“It’s great to meet new faces, and to know that we have faculty here that care and are dedicated professionals,” said Adrian Mieles, D.P.T. Class of 2027. “I feel at home.”
Malvika Arora, D.P.T. Class of 2027, shares what she’s looking forward to as a new student at NYMC. “I’m looking forward to making friends with everyone in the class. I’m really excited for clinical and forming relationships with the professors.”
Janet Dolot, M.S., D.P.T., Dr.P.H. '14, PT, OCS, division chief and associate professor of physical therapy, provided words of encouragement to the new students on what to expect for the next couple of years as D.P.T. students. “We’re excited to welcome the incoming class of physical therapy students to the College as they take this next step into their professional careers,” said Dr. Dolot. “They’ve been working towards this moment for a long time.”
