Amy Razukiewicz, M.P.H., CPH, RBP, is Named Director of Environmental Health and Safety
Maintaining a Safe Environment for Students, Faculty and Staff is Paramount for Amy Razukiewicz, M.P.H., CPH, RBP, Director of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety
She is responsible for the overall management and continuous improvement of energy, health, safety and environmental programs and policies for New York Medical College (NYMC). She acts as NYMC’s institutional radiation safety officer, the responsible official for NYMC’s Tier 1 Biological Select Agents and Toxin (BSAT) program and provides oversight for the Biosafety Level-3 laboratory program. She also serves as compliance officer for Touro Dental Health.
Ms. Razukiewicz is responsible for regulatory compliance, risk management and technical program management. She oversees all campus laboratory construction and renovation as well as the design, construction and maintenance of structures and infrastructure systems as they relate to environmental, health and safety compliance.
Ms. Razukiewicz also plays an integral role in emergency management and life safety on campus, developing policies, procedures and plans to meet state and federal regulations and mutual aid agreements with local and state agencies. She also manages the College’s fire and life safety program to enforce applicable safety codes, policies and procedures.
Ms. Razukiewicz chairs the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) Infection Control Committee and the Touro College and University System Laboratory Safety Committee. She also serves as executive secretary for Radiation Safety Committee and is a voting member on the Institutional Biosafety Committee, TCDM’s Quality Assurance Committee and an alternate voting member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
A valued member of the NYMC community since 2008, Ms. Razukiewicz says, “I look forward to working with our campus partners at NYMC and TCDM to accomplish our common goals on behalf of the campus community. My goals are to enhance the visibility of safety, compliance and environmental stewardship at all levels by closing communication gaps, broadening service delivery and providing critical support necessary to support the College’s core mission of teaching and research.”
