NYMC Offers Family Friendly Resources
A Wealth of Information to Help with the Challenges of Family Issues and Ensure Success in Work and Studies Is Available on the TouroOne Portal
Family, familial responsibilities and work-life balance have taken on new light during the COVID-19 pandemic. While these values have always been important to New York Medical College (NYMC) and the Touro College and University System (TCUS), a new resource is now available to NYMC and Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) students and employees: Family Friendly Campus Resources, a repository of information available on TouroOne.
A joint initiative of the Offices of Human Resources and Student Affairs, Family Friendly Campus Resources provides a wealth of information, both College-specific as well as general, on topics to help with the challenges of family issues and ensure success in work and studies. It is available for employees under the Campus Resources section and for students under the Home-Students section of the TouroOne Portal.
Upon logging in, users will see available information specific to either employees or students. The two portlets cover resources on nursing and lactation including how to request a lactation room on campus, family and parenting support including the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Health Advocate which is part of employee benefits offerings, as well as information on early intervention, daycare, childcare, tutoring, consumer product safety, elder care resources, family entertainment and activities in the Westchester area and local public transportation information.
“We hope employees and students will take advantage of this one-stop-shop for family-friendly information. There are many resources out there and we are pleased to be able to share them with the NYMC and TCDM communities. We welcome feedback and suggestions to allow this new portlet tool to grow as a vital resource for all of our campus constituents,” said Sheila Chang, senior human resources business partner for NYMC and TCDM.
