GSBMS Pens Conditional Admittance and Guaranteed Interview Agreements with TUCOM
TU California College of Osteopathic Medicine Offers Conditional Admittance and Guaranteed Interview for GSBMS Students
The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBMS) has entered into benchmark-conditional admittance and guaranteed interview agreements with Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM). GSBMS students in the Accelerated Master’s Program, two-year discipline-based master’s programs and the two-year interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Master’s Program, or applicants who have completed one of these programs, and who seek admission to the TUCOM will be guaranteed an interview or offered the opportunity to enter into a conditional admittance agreement if they meet certain academic benchmarks. GSBMS already offers a conditional admittance pathway to the New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine (SOM).
"Our unique conditional admittance and guaranteed interview agreements with TUCOM and NYMC SOM pave the way for aspiring physicians,” said Marina K. Holz, Ph.D., M.P.H. '23, dean of the GSBMS, professor of cell biology and anatomy and interim chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. “This synergy is just one of the many benefits of being part of Touro University.”
The criteria for conditional admittance include applying to TUCOM following the normal procedures and requirements and achieving an MCAT score of more than 505 and a GPA of more 3.4 or higher.
For a guaranteed interview at TUCOM, applicants must apply following the normal procedures specified by TUCOM, score more than 500 on the MCAT and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
