The Specialty Chemicals Unit has Joined the Growing Biotechnology Incubator at New York Medical College
New York Medical College (NYMC) announced that Marubeni America Corporation is the newest client to join BioInc@NYMC, NYMC’s biotechnology incubator through its Specialty Chemicals Unit. The unit imports and exports industrial plastics, packaging materials, and specialty chemicals across many industries, while also providing sourcing, marketing, and technical support.
“We are very excited to join BioInc’s cutting-edge facilities and scientific community,” said Pedro Jativa, the director of administration for the Specialty Chemicals Unit. “Our residency here will not only benefit our future projects development and research, but it will also allow us to leverage amenities and resources that BioInc has to offer.
Established in 1993, Marubeni America’s Specialty Chemicals Unit will be occupying a laboratory suite at BioInc to focus on a variety of projects related to, but not limited to agriculture and water treatment. Overall, the unit will be using the lab to provide in-house general support for their customers, while testing new chemicals, applications and formulations.
“We are honored to have Specialty Chemicals Unit of Marubeni America Corporation join our growing list of innovative collaborators at BioInc,” said Salomon Amar, Ph.D., D.D.S., vice president for research at NYMC. “Following the recent graduation of three longstanding members of the incubator, we are eager to build upon their success with the addition of new clients. BioInc is proud to serve as a leading premier biomedical incubator in the region, supporting start-ups in their growth with our state-of-the-art technology and lab equipment.”
