Westfair Communications Inc., held its sixth annual Westchester Doctors of Distinction event on September 24 at the Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle, New York, to honor those who have had an influential impact on health care or medical science in Westchester County.
The evening’s keynote speaker was Marina K. Holz, Ph.D., dean of the Graduate School of Basic Medical Sciences and professor of cell biology and anatomy.
The Power Couple Award was presented to Robert W. Amler, M.D., M.B.A., vice president for government affairs, dean of the School of Health Sciences and Practice and professor of public health, pediatrics and environmental health science, and Sherlita Amler, M.D., M.S., clinical associate professor of pediatrics, adjunct professor of public health and senior fellow for Center for Disaster Medicine and Westchester County Commissioner of Health. “We all work together, whether as clinicians taking good care of individual patients or public health physicians and other public health professionals taking care of communities and preventing disease, hopefully before it occurs,” said Dr. Robert Amler.
Also among those honored were Michael H. Gewitz, M.D., professor of pediatrics and vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Jennifer Lindelof, School of Medicine Class of 2020 and president of the School of Medicine Student Senate, who received the Promise for the Future Award.
