NYMC Observes World Hypertension Day

Nearly 80 participants were screened in the Basic Sciences Building Hales Lobby with the assistance of student volunteers. Each participant was screened using a traditional blood pressure cuff, as well as with the Digitouch blood pressure sensor, to compare results and educate people about blood pressure measurement. Marc Zemel, CEO and co-founder of Digitouch Health, explained they are developing advanced algorithms and sensors for monitoring blood pressure, including a sensor to monitor blood pressure by pressing a button on a mobile device.
