NYMC Welcomes SOM Class of 2023

Before officially embarking on their studies at New York Medical College, students from the School of Medicine Class of 2023 marked the beginning of their paths toward becoming physicians with a week of Transition to Medical School activities.

Here’s a look at the new class:

● 215 students matriculated

● 12,845 total applications received

● 56 percent of the class is female

● Students hail from 21 states and 6 students are from Ontario, Canada

● 50 percent of the class is from New York

● 103 undergraduate schools are represented

● The average class age is 24
