The SHSP Research and Scholarship Day featured 24 poster presentations, fostering collaboration and advancing public health and scientific inquiry.

The School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) Research and Scholarship Day, presented in partnership with the Delta Omega and Alpha Eta NYMC Chapter Honor Societies, was a vibrant celebration of scientific discovery and collaboration on March 6. Students, faculty, and alumni presented research on various community-service and research projects, including providing emergency department care to survivors of sexual violence, food insecurity, health care cost transparency, and advancing women’s health care.

Marking the first Research and Scholarship Day since the COVID-19 pandemic, the event highlighted groundbreaking research, fostered meaningful networking opportunities, and honored the invaluable contributions of the College and community collaborators. With 24 poster presentations showcasing innovative projects across various disciplines, the event provides a platform for students, faculty, and professionals to engage in thought-provoking discussions and advance the frontiers of public health and scientific inquiry.

The winners of the SHSP Research and Scholarship Day will have their posters in the SHSP lobby throughout the week.

“Thank you to the students who put in all the great work on these posters. Congratulations on your incredible achievement—this is a true milestone,” David Markenson, M.D., M.B.A., director of the Center of Disaster Medicine and senior associate dean for research.
