Marvin Gunter, M.P.H., M.A.-CSBC

Marvin Gunter is a Public Health Communication Strategist with over 20 years’ experience in the provision of technical support to Caribbean government and allied civil society organizations in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and programmes that advance universal access to integrated sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for young people and minorities. Before joining the Dr.P.H. program of New York Medical College, Marvin managed the portfolio of Regional Program Specialist for the United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Sub-regional Office for the Caribbean (SROC) which is based in Kingston, Jamaica and covers 22 English and Dutch speaking territories in the Caribbean. Prior to this he held responsibilities as National Director of Youth and HIV with the Jamaica Red Cross (JRC) and the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC). Marvin holds two Masters degrees, one in Public Health from the University of Technology (UTECH), another with distinction in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) from the Caribbean Institute for Media and Communications (CARIMAC) at the University of the West Indies (UWI). Marvin hails from Manchester, Jamaica and earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from UTECH.
