Chandra “Pauline” (Dinakar) Daniel, Ph.D.

Chandra Daniel is currently pursuing her DrPH in Health Policy and Management at the New York Medical College. Her doctoral research in the field of Nutrition and Infectious Diseases led to her research and community outreach amongst the marginalized and frequently incarcerated population with Substance Use Disorders. Her doctoral research finding was presented at the World Health Organization's Annual meeting for the Safe Injection Global Network in 2007. She is the recipient of the President's Volunteer Service Award (2014). She was recognized as an Associate Member of the New York Academy of Medicine in 2019. Chandra Pauline Daniel has worked for the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the National Black Leadership in Health, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task force and the New Jersey Department of Health. In 2018, she took a UN mission to India, as a Temporary Advisor to the UNAIDS, representing a unique collaborative partnership between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Harvard Medical School. In September 2020, the United Nations Association (UNA-USA) selected her as the Global Goals Ambassador for SDG-17. Dr. Daniel's work and research- related track record exude unique and innovative perspectives, are aimed at achieving better health outcomes for all.
