Ashlyn Morse is a current DrPH candidate at New York Medical College and Orthopedic Surgical Resident at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY where she works closely with safety net hospital patients in and out of the operating theater. Dr. Morse has a particular interest in the outpatient resident-run clinics that target underserved communities in Westchester and wants to streamline and improve the delivery of cost-effective, conscientious quality care in a post-COVID era. Before trekking to the Northeast, Dr. Morse earned her MD and MPH at the sunny University of Miami, working closely with the community stakeholders of Overtown to develop a grant-funded public health program for underserved youth titled “The Overtown Health Theater.” Dr. Morse, in addition to spending time in the sun, also spent time under the hood in the microbiology laboratory working on the role of SOX-9 expression in chondrosarcoma, a rare primary bone cancer, with the Musculoskeletal Oncology team. In her spare time, Dr. Morse enjoys long walks on the beach, amateur hiking adventures in Yosemite National Park, and poetry.
