Sahar Abduljawad, M.P.H.

Sahar is a faculty member at Umm AlQura University (UQU) since 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2013 from Laroche University and earned her Master of Public Health, Policy Concentration in 2018, from The University of Sciences. Before joining the DrPH program she was deputy chair of the Dept. of Public Health at UQU. Her goal as a faculty member is to empower students, create opportunities, and contribute to economic development in the region. Her top priority is to guide females toward demanding rights in making health decisions without guardian consent. Educating ambitious women to accomplish careers in health policy will also help contribute to social development and progress. She is eager to shape women’s health policy in Saudi Arabia and help pave the way toward greater equality. Sahar’s current research interests include preventive health screening, caring for women and sexually transmitted infections, include a special focus on human papillomavirus.
