Tunesia Mitchell, NCCPA

Tunesia Mitchell is a NCCPA Board Certified Physician Assistant, American Academy of Physician Assistants, Distinguished Fellow and commander in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps. Tunesia received her Bachelors of Science from Touro College in 2004, Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in 2007, and a Doctorate Certificate in Public Health from New York Medical College in 2018. Her current duty station the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and she provides clinical care for the underserved in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), located in the South Bronx, New York. Tunesia deploys frequently as one of our nation’s first responders; and has made notable contributions in national emergencies, such as Coronavirus Disease 2019, Hurricane Harvey, Irma/Maria and several US Border Missions. In her free time, Tunesia serves the underserved community by serving as the clinical director of an Opioid Overdose Prevention Programs (OOPP), co-director of a Wellness Ministry, and a member of the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). Upon graduation, Tunesia plans on continuing to engage and empower members of disadvantaged communities as a public health advisor and educator.
