Jonquil Dent, M.P.H. CHES

Jonquil Dent is a policy research fellow with the CDC, National Center for Environmental Health, where she is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic communications projects. Prior to joining the CDC, Jonquil served as a Grant and Program Manager overseeing a multimillion-dollar grants portfolio. She has experience in the environmental health arena, particularly focused on lead hazard control and prevention, brownfield site reduction, and the adverse health effects of environmental exposures. Jonquil received her Bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice and Sociology with a minor in Biology from Howard University. She pursued her graduate studies at The Mississippi University for Women earning a Master's degree in Public Health with a Health Education concentration. Jonquil is a nationally Certified Health Education Specialist with research interests in health policy, health equity, and health disparities - particularly with a focus on the impact of social and political determinants of health on policy implementation.
