Tuition Discount Programs

Students enrolling in the M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. Bioethics may be eligible for a tuition discount through the School of Health Sciences and Practice. There is a maximum of one discount per student, discounts cannot be combined. Please see the groups below to see if you qualify.

Tuition discounts are applicable to tuition charges only and are not retroactive under any circumstances. It is the student's responsibility to submit the appropriate documentation every term upon registration. Discounts requests will not be accepted after the first week of the term and will not be applied to prior terms regardless of eligibility.

FDA and HHS Employees Tuition Discount

Employees of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) receive a 50% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. Bioethics.

To request the 50% discount, students using VA benefits, a letter on official letterhead citing employment and eligibility must be submitted at every registration term and must be faxed to (914) 594-3477 or emailed to: bursar@nymc.edu

WMC Health Network Employees

Employees of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network receive a 10% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

Employees of Boston Children's Health Physicians (BCHP)

Employees of the Boston Children’s Health Physicians (BCHP) receive a 30% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

Veterans and Active Duty Members

50% for active-duty members of the U.S. uniformed services* (military and U.S. Public Health Service) for the online Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) program.

40% for veterans of the U.S National Guard, reservists, retirees, veterans (discharged under honorable conditions—must provide DD Form 214 or equivalent), Department of Defense employees (contractors exempt), and their immediate family.

* All U.S. Uniformed Services Branches are included under active duty, reservists, retirees, and veterans. (U.S. Public Health Service, NOAA, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard)

Students who are veterans and eligible for the GI Bill tuition benefit are encouraged to use this benefit which typically covers their full tuition in the School of Health Sciences and Practice. In such cases no further discount applies. GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). 50% Tuition Discount, Benefits for Members of the U.S. Public Health Service
Committed to those individuals who serve our nation—New York Medical College’s (NYMC) School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP) provides a 50% tuition discount to members of the U.S. Public Health Service. Veterans and active-duty members of the Commissioned Public Health Service, and civilian employees of the U.S. Public Health Service are eligible for this tuition discount on all SHSP public health programs.

Procedure for Receiving Tuition Discount

Please visit the Tuition Assistance page to learn more about who is eligible and what the application looks like based on the branch you are in. Prospective students must receive approval from the student's ESO, military counselor, or Service prior to enrollment. As part of the NYMC process, active duty and veterans/dependent students planning on using the GI Bill, must submit the NYMC Veteran-Active Duty Discount / Certification Request Form every term upon registration to bursar@nymc.edu with the necessary proof of eligibility.

Friends of Public Health /Employees of Health Departments

‌Employees of the local, state, and federal health departments receive a 25% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

Touro Students Tuition Discount

Students or Alumni of any school within the Touro University System receive a 30% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

A transcript showing current enrollment or graduation from a member of the Touro University System must be submitted once and must be faxed to (914) 594-3477 or emailed to: bursar@nymc.edu

CUNY/SUNY Graduates

Students or alumni of any City University of New York (CUNY) or State University of New York (SUNY) college receive a 25% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

A transcript showing current enrollment or graduation from a CUNY or SUNY school must be submitted once and must be faxed to (914) 594-3477 or emailed to: bursar@nymc.edu

Westchester County Government Employees

Employees of the Westchester County Government receive a 20% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

Alumni of the School of Health Sciences and Practice alumni receive a 50% tuition discount on course audits.

First Responders

First Responders receive a 40% tuition discount on the Advanced Certificate in Emergency Management certificate.

Faculty Practice Employees Discount

Physicians employed in an NYMC faculty practice entity (at least 2 years) receive a 25% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs. Non-physicians employed in an NYMC faculty practice entity (at least 2 years) receive a 10% tuition discount on M.P.H., Dr.P.H., M.S. in Biostatistics, or M.S. in Bioethics programs.

Friends of Bioethics

A fifty percent (50%) tuition reduction is being offered as a membership benefit for Friends of Bioethics on the Master of Science (M.S.) and Advanced Certificate in Bioethics Programs at New York Medical College (NYMC).
