International Medical School Graduates

  • Both J-1 and H1-B visas can be sponsored, provided all requirements are fulfilled before we finalize our rank list. This sponsorship is conditional and will be discussed during the interview.
  • An International Medical Graduate must possess an ECFMG certification to qualify for an interview.
  • While not mandatory, US clinical observerships/rotations are beneficial.

Notification Process

A committee reviews the applications to determine if an interview will be granted. Due to the volume of applications received the committee will not be able to interview all applicants. Interview session starts in October and end in February, with limited interviews between Christmas and New Year holidays. All interviews are conducted on weekdays.

If selected for an interview, you will receive an invitation via the messaging portal on ERAS. All interview schedules are done through the ERAS scheduler. Application status is never communicated to applicants by phone. We do not provide updates on an application. Due to our very high number of applicants, we apologize that we will not be able to notify you if you are not selected for an interview.

Virtual Interview for Match

For the 2025 Match, we are continuing virtual interviews, utilizing the Webex platform. Selection hinges on multiple factors including academic excellence, aptitude, communication skills, and personal traits like motivation and sincerity. If you've had prior graduate medical education training, it will be taken into account. Selected candidates will be notified via messaging through the ERAS platform about their scheduled interview. The invitation message will include specific instructions how to schedule an interview and the details of the virtual format.
