Applicant Information

Applications are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). ERAS applications open in mid-September and we review applications shortly after, in mid-October. Eligible candidates enter at the PGY-2 level after completing a PGY-1 year in internal medicine, general surgery, or family medicine. 

Candidates selected for an interview will be notified.

Application Requirements

All applications must include:

  • Completed Application
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • 2 -3 Letters of Recommendation
  • USMLE or COMLEX Scores
  • Medical School Transcripts (international transcripts must be translated)
  • ECFMG Certificate, if applicable

International Applicants

International applicants must meet the following additional requirements:

  • Applicants must report scores for USMLE Step 1, USMLE Step 2 (CK), and USMLE Step 2 (CS)
  • ECFMG certification must be verified.
  • Applicants must be eligible for one of the following:
    • a J1 Visa (exchange visitor program issued by ECFMG)
    • H-1B Visa (must pass the 3 steps of the USLME; Immigration and Naturalization Service must process and approve)
    • Employment Authorization (work permit) issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service

Interviews

Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Interviews typically take place in November and December. Applicants that are granted an interview are then ranked and selected through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

Interviews are currently held virtually. Applicants granted interviews will be contacted by the Program Coordinator with available interview dates, an overview of the interview process, and a WebEx Link.
