Elli Levy, M.A., provides vital leadership related to overseeing all simulation resources and technologies necessary to execute medical education programs that promote inter-professional collaboration, teaching, and assessment of health professions students. This role provides hands-on expertise in the facilitation of medical simulation activities, collaboration with faculty and staff in the creation of high fidelity manikin course content, management of the daily operations of all IT and AV needs related to simulation equipment/simulation programs, oversight of staff technicians involved with operating manikins and maintaining LearningSpace, maintenance of a fiscally responsible budget, and the creation of advanced training videos related to faculty and student development.
In addition to his extensive technical support for the School of Medicine MD program, Elli is also the primary liaison for helping to develop and execute advanced clinical skills training sessions involving manikins, task trainers, and point of care ultrasound for learners that include, but are not limited, dental, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, and nursing students; resident physicians; fellows; attending; local healthcare professionals; and students attending regional high school health professions partnership/mentorship programs.
Elli holds a Master of Media Studies/Media Management and brings extensive professional experience to this position having previously worked in higher education as the Media Resources Manager with the City University of New York where he oversaw the design, installation and subsequent administration of interactive technology. Steering the SP/Learner interactions has been a seamless transition because of his role at the American Stock Exchange where he managed the production of live financial news, as the Director of Broadcast Services. Elli enjoys his participation in the experience of the students in their life’s journey in becoming medical professionals.
