Before joining NYMC in 2020, Paul T. Diamond, M.D., FAAPM&R, served as director of neurorehabilitation and associate professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with the University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health), which he joined in 1992. In addition to his clinical and administrative roles at UVA Health, Dr. Diamond held a variety of academic appointments, including director of residency training, director of research, and vice-chair and interim chair of the department. 

Board certified in both internal medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Diamond completed residencies in physical medicine and rehabilitation and internal medicine at John Hopkins University. Dr. Diamond has contributed greatly to the field of rehabilitation medicine, having held several NIH and other grants, presenting nationally, and publishing over sixty abstracts, journal articles and book chapters. His clinical and research interests include stroke outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and virtual reality applications in stroke rehabilitation.
