Bruno S. Villazhiñay Matute, Dr.P.H. '25, M.P.H. '22, leads a broad portfolio of academic, operational, and strategic initiatives supporting faculty development, medical education, research administration, and health equity in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 

Dr. Villazhiñay Matute has been instrumental in advancing departmental goals around clinical innovation and community engagement. He played a key role in the launch of Westchester Medical Center’s Center for Women’s Health Equity. His work spans operations management, program development, and institutional partnerships, with a focus on equity-centered systems improvement.

With over a decade of experience across health care, research, and academia, Dr. Villazhiñay Matute brings deep expertise in policy, health services research, and inclusive leadership.

Born in Ecuador and raised in New York, Dr. Villazhiñay Matute’s personal and professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to advancing health justice, maternal health, and equity in care.
