Dazhong Xu, Ph.D.
Dazhong Xu, Ph.D. joined the faculty at New York Medical College as Assistant Professor of Pathology and Head of Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory in 2014. Dr. Xu served as Vice Chair of Research of the Department of Pathology from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, he was promoted to associate professor of pathology, microbiology, and immunology. Prior to NYMC, Dr. Xu worked at New York University School of Medicine as a Research Assistant Professor and Tuft University School of Medicine as an Instructor of Medicine.

Research
Dr. Xu's laboratory is interested in the molecular and cellular biology of cancer, with a focus on lung carcinogenesis induced by environmental and occupational carcinogens. A major goal of the lab is to identify novel molecular mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis and cancer progression. The laboratory employs various state-of-the-art molecular, cellular, and genetic tools, as well as mouse models, to achieve its research goals.
