The Clinical Skills and Simulation Center

An invaluable new resource at New York Medical College, T1he Clinical Skills and Simulation Center is a technology rich training environment that currently supports interprofessional and transdisciplinary learning programs in the New York Medical College School of Medicine (SOM) and the local medical communities. The Center is the realization of the SOM’s mission to create state-of-the-art educational facilities and interactive training programs to keep the school at the forefront of health sciences education, simulation modalities, research opportunities, as well as to support the growing demands for health care professionals.

The 7 Dana Road facility, which houses the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center, was transformed into a functional educational environment that includes twenty examination rooms for standardized patient encounters and other clinical activities, two simulation rooms which include four high-fidelity mannequins, two educational rooms that contain Harvey cardiovascular mannequins, a 110-seat classroom with audio visual lecture capabilities as well as technology enabled tables for additional online examination space, 65 procedural task trainers, and a faculty encounter/activity viewing area.

With programs designed to promote humanism, communication skills, safety, and excellence in patient care, the Center is dedicated to providing students and professionals with the skills and practice necessary to become exceptionally prepared health care providers.
